Disney Plus is coming to Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV in 2018.
Disney has made its TV app the main focus of the overhaul, and Apple TV owners will be able to see the revamped version in action soon.
Disney Plus will be a separate app from Disney+ that will be accessible to Disney fans, but it will be an important part of the company’s growing library of content.
Disney+ launched on Apple TV in September 2018.
The Disney+ app will be available for the following devices in 2018:Apple TV (8.0, 10.1, 11.1 and 11.3)Amazon Fire TV (5.0 and 5.5)Google Chromecast (2.0+)Android TV (2 and 4)Google TV (4.0+ and 4.2+)Apple TV Stick (1 and 2)The new Apple TV app will look and feel much like the current version of Disney Plus.
It will include a new section called Disney Plus, which will allow you to search for content on Disney properties, as well as browse the entire Disney library, and also share content to friends.
Apple TV owners who have previously purchased Disney+ content will be eligible for a free Apple TV update when the update goes live on September 26, 2018.
Apple will be the only Apple TV company to offer a separate Disney+ service.
Disney will also be the first company to allow Disney+ to be installed on devices running iOS 10 and above, which makes it easier for users to navigate through content from Disney’s existing content library.
Apple is expected to launch a Disney+ on-demand service on the iPad app store in the coming weeks, allowing users to access content from the company on their Apple TV.
Apple is also working on new content for Apple TV that will not be included in the iOS app, such as films from Pixar, Marvel, and more.
Apple’s upcoming Apple TV upgrade will likely have a significant impact on the Disney+ experience for users.
