The “Game of Thrones” season 6 app library will include a new “Game Of Thrones”-themed section, and the HBO app will include “GameOfThrones”-related content on the site, according to a press release.
The app library is not the first indication of HBO’s intent to include the show on the streaming service.
The network has been showing off the app library for years, and its inclusion on the new app is likely an extension of that effort.HBO recently announced that the app will allow viewers to “lock in” to specific episodes and seasons, but the app does not currently have a lock in function.
Instead, the app offers a new way to subscribe to HBO, which will allow users to “sign up” to watch the app on their device.
While HBO is the first network to reveal a Game of Thrones app library and app settings, it’s not the only network to do so.
Last month, Sony confirmed that its PlayStation app will be included in the app’s settings menu, as will Disney’s App Store.
Apple has also made similar announcements about the app, and in an earlier press release it hinted that the HBO apps would be available for download on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
While it’s unclear when HBO will introduce its app on the service, it will likely be some time before that happens.
In the meantime, viewers can sign up for an HBO subscription at any time by visiting the app store.
