How Facebook’s pornhub app got a new name

Facebook has decided to change its pornhub brand to ‘porn’ for the foreseeable future.

The social network’s news feeds have been adorned with the brand since 2014, but its first foray into the field came with its recent acquisition of adult video-streaming service Pornhub, which was founded in 2011 by a pornographer and has been used by over 4 million users.

The company’s porn-themed feed has since been a mainstay on the social network, but it’s now been replaced by the new ‘porno’ brand, which the company said it hopes to launch “later this year.”

The move is the latest in a long line of changes for the porn app that Facebook launched in 2014.

Pornhub has long been an integral part of Facebook’s News Feed, where it was used to display content like news, sports, and travel, and it’s also a main driver of the social media giant’s growth.

The app was used by a user base of over 3 million in 2016, with more than 3.3 million of those being users who logged into Facebook from outside of the US.

Its name was also a nod to the site’s porn icon, which is currently located at the bottom of the home screen.

But while Facebook has been actively trying to push its app away from its porn icon for years, it’s apparently not going that far in the current push to make porn a central part of its news feed.

“While we always wanted to keep Pornhub on top of the News Feed,” a spokesperson for Facebook told The Verge.

“We have always wanted it to be a central place for our news.

We were inspired by the success of our own Facebook app, and felt it would be a great idea to make Pornhub a central location for all of our news.”

Facebook’s announcement comes as more porn stars are joining the ranks of the site.

In a post on Facebook, the company announced that it has signed the following new porn stars: Daphne Levesque, Mia Malkova, Nikki Glaser, Brooke White, and Roxy Raye.

It also announced that a new ‘featured’ category called ‘Sexy Sex Stories’ will now be included in the news feed, adding to the already long list of features on the site aimed at helping users discover new content.

PornHub will also feature a new feature called ‘Featured Pornstars,’ which will highlight the most popular adult videos on the platform.

It’s unclear what the new feature will look like, but the company has promised to provide an explanation as soon as the feature launches.

Porn Hub’s recent move into the porn industry also comes at a time when it’s looking to become more prominent in the US, where the company is struggling to find its footing.

Earlier this year, the site announced that its ads would be coming to Apple TV and Roku boxes in the coming weeks.

The porn app is also launching its own app for Apple TV, which will feature content from the likes of Pornhub’s top-ranked pornstars.

Porn-centric apps like the pornhub-powered Snapchat app and Snapchat Stories, which are part of the company’s Snapchat Stories platform, are also making inroads in the mobile space.

But it’s still not clear how Facebook plans to compete with those other apps and platforms when it comes to reaching the same audiences that Pornhub does.

“If you’re a porn star or a video producer, you’re going to want to use Pornhub,” Pornhub CEO Scott Van Slyke said at a press conference announcing the new porn brand in September.

“Pornhub is a hub for people to see and connect with their friends, their families, and to have a place to share content, and so that’s where the future of porn lies.”
